Catching A Fresh Vision From God For Your Life!

“Without Vision – the People Perish”   – Solomon

“He who sits on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.‘”

REVELATION 21:5 (NASB)

INTRO – THE BENEFITS

  1. Replaces DESPAIR WITH ENCOURAGEMENT

“Then I said to them, ‘You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.'”  Nehemiah 2:17

Let’s your Hopes – Not your Hurts shape your Future

“The God of heaven will give us success; therefore we His servants will arise and build…”  Nehemiah 2:20 (NASB)

  1. Prevents STAGNATION

  1. Keeps me Dependent on God

Jehoshaphat – “We have no power to face this vast army….We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.”  2 CHRONICLES 20:12

  1. Creates PURPOSE AND PASSION

“Never be lacking in zeal, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.”  ROMANS 12:11 (RJV)

  1. Gives God the opportunity to pull off a MIRACLE

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory.”

Ephesians 3:20-21 (RJV)

2 In the month of Nisan in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was brought for him, I took the wine and gave it to the king. I had not been sad in his presence before,so the king asked me, “Why does your face look so sad when you are not ill? This can be nothing but sadness of heart.”

I was very much afraid, but I said to the king, “May the king live forever! Why should my face not look sad when the city where my ancestors are buried lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?”

The king said to me, “What is it you want?” Then I prayed to the God of heaven, and I answered the king, “If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my ancestors are buried so that I can rebuild it.”

Then the king, with the queen sitting beside him, asked me, “How long will your journey take, and when will you get back?” It pleased the king to send me; so I set a time.I also said to him, “If it pleases the king, may I have letters to the governors of Trans-Euphrates, so that they will provide me safe-conduct until I arrive in Judah? And may I have a letter to Asaph, keeper of the royal park, so he will give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel by the temple and for the city wall and for the residence I will occupy?” And because the gracious hand of my God was on me, the king granted my requests. So I went to the governors of Trans-Euphrates and gave them the king’s letters. The king had also sent army officers and cavalry with me.

TWO ESSENTIALS THAT FAITH CONNECTS US WITH!

  1. FAITH CONNECTS US WITH COURAGE THAT REFUSES TO SETTLE.

The Challenges to Faith Reveal the Character that is already in you!

James 1 (Msg)

2-4 Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely.

What Faith is NOT?

  • Faith is not a power or a force.
  • Faith is not a vehicle we can coerce God into something against His will.
  • Faith is not something that allows me to be the center of the Universe.

What Faith IS?

  • Faith is an expression of confidence in the person and character of God.
  • Faith is the proper response to the promises of God.

What does our exercising faith MEAN?

  • Embracing and owning a vision is in itself an act of faith.
  • Faith creates a legacy beyond you.

“Then the king said to me, “What would you request?”

(Nehemiah 2:4a)

Application:

If you want to show God your ultimate expression of devotion, admiration, and adoration, act on your faith.  This means making life decisions based on what He has claimed about Himself.

I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”  2 Timothy 1:6-7

IT IS TIME TO PULL OUT ALL THE STOPS!

  1. FAITH CONNECTS US TO DEPENDENCY IN GOD AND FREES US FROM SELF-SUFFICIENCY.

Key Principles: Few things distort our perspective like public success. Few things can build pride like false humility.

And because the gracious hand of my God was on me, the king granted my requests. So I went to the governors of Trans-Euphrates and gave them the king’s letters. The king had also sent army officers and cavalry with me.

(Nehemiah 2:8-9)

Several Sign Posts on Your Journey:

To the degree that you Know God’s Character by Knowing God’s Word is what will set the thermostat of your faith.

The bigger the vision, the more important is that your faith be grounded in His ability, not yours.

Before God can entrust you with the rewards that accompany success, you must be dependent.

THE RESULT

God will lead you to do things

Never Done Before

Only when I go Ways I have not been before…

Will I get to Places I have never been before…

“You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”  2 TIMOTHY 2:1

IT IS TIME TO TAKE THE LEAP OF FAITH!
